MONDAY 9TH APRIL: CLASSES AT ENGLISH IN YORK + ORIENTATION TOUR AND MINSTER
Monday 9th April ( by Arianna )
Good morning! We woke up at 6:45 to start getting dressed up
and we would meet up at 7:00 to have breakfast together. For breakfast we had a
bowl of cereals and we actually had a variety of cereals to choose but I chose
cheerios because they are my favorite type of cereals they also offered us to
make a toast but we weren’t really confident enough to use the toaster by ourselves
After breakfast we all brushed our teeth and did what we had to do in order to
be at 7:45 out.
Our mom Sharon came with us the first day to show us around
how to get to the bus station and how to get from where the bus left us to
school. She also started telling us a little bit about the ‘village’ where we
live. We arrived at school and we waited for the remaining people to come.
We met our teacher Eve which was super nice and they told us
a little about them, they also gave us a bracelet with phone numbers just in
case we got lost. We had lessons for 3 hours and 2 breaks of 15 minutes each.
The first day at school was super fast and we had a lunch break from 12:30 to
13:30.
For lunch we had a sandwich, where you could choose the
ingredients, a chocolate bar, some chips and a bottle of water, that would be
our lunch for the rest of the week, of course they would change the chocolate
bars and snacks.
When we finished lunch we had a tour around the city showing
us the main streets and we visited York’s minster which is York’s cathedral, of
a gothic style. After finishing our visits we had around 1 hour of free time,
where we dedicated to explore a little bit and eating free samples of fudge,
which by the way, was delicious.
When our free time finished they showed us how to get
back home because many of us didn’t remember. When we got home, we had dinner
and if I remember good I think it was pizza and chips. Then we went to my room and we talked all together as
usual. Another day was gone, and way too fast.
